As a Tower SHores Board Member for a few more weeks, I also agee. Here is an email I sent to the board:
We should consider removing this restriction from the covenants. I looked into this mater also (as did Miriam Lloyd) and the DNREC restriction only applies to Ocean Front properties. The other residents should be able to choose the type of driveway materials that best suits their needs.
I’m concerned we go too far sometimes with restrictive covenants. DNREC, State of Delaware and Sussex County laws/rules/regulations should always prevail in our community (i.e., building heights). The Board should stay out of these matters that are addressed by these governing or regulatory agencies.
