There’s a big difference between dogs on the beach at sunrise…and during the day when we’re all crowded onto the small oceanfront we have.
There’s a HUGE difference between our four blocks of heaven which is jammed with hundreds of people in townhomes, and the expanses of beach in the multi million dollar gated communities where, it seems, almost no one is on the beach – so who cares if
they have a dog? There’s at least twenty feet or more between them and their nearest beach buddy.
Why do you think the Breakwater community hires a guard to keep us off their beach? We are the most populated section of the beach between the state park and downtown Bethany.
Please be real. Please be considerate. Do we really need this to be a dividing issue? Can’t we please keep our beach for people, not pets, during the season?
I love watching sunrise. Most of all, I love the hours at the end of the day when it’s quieter and the golden light makes its magic on the beach. It’s not that I don’t like dogs. I just want the beach to be…the beach.
For almost all of the day, dozens of us haul our chairs, umbrellas, tents etc. to the beach, along with kids, toys…we sure do have a lot of stuff for four Blocks of beach.
Please can’t you keep your dogs home? Why is it so hard to follow a few rules to keep our beach clean and friendly?
Seriously, can’t we all get along?
There’s a small group of dog advocates – some running for election for the TS board – with a single issue…to force us all to sit with their dogs on the beach. Please explore the board candidates’ views carefully. And think about our community.
For me, the beach is my peace.
