While I find most points to be valid here, lets be clear that if the HOA votes to allow dogs on the beach, the intent is not to have the beach turn into a dog park. And Tony you know that. The proposal on the table will only be for early AM and late PM. To provide some teeth to the permission, the board should reserve the right to rescind its decision (should it make one) if its clear that dog owners are not behaving responsibly. I think a “probationary” period may be a way to determine if this works or doesn’t. Those in favor of dogs on the beach should consider signing up to be stewards of good citizenship in this regard and perhaps agree to fund the availability of bags at all crossover entrances. I agree it will be much harder to monitor with renters (witness this summers violations of the no fires on the beach or glass containers) and owners should also take into consideration limiting dogs on the beach only to Tower Shores owner community.
