I expect the vast majority of the owners of Towers Shores will put the health and safety of the many people who use our bathing beach during “the season” and vote to keep our beach free of dogs during the season. I was scratched and bruised and bleeding (and permanently scarred) this summer as I walked down the beach wearing shorts South of Tower Shores early in the morning and a dog ran over to me and jumped on my leg. I limped home and have been afraid to walk the beach since then. While most dog owners try to pick up their dog feces, all do not, and some might truly “miss” seeing some or all of their dog feces which creates a significant health hazard for those of us sitting, digging and eating food on the beach. The real question is, how do we enforce the rule to keep our beach safe and dog free during the season if some people refuse to obey the rules?
