Pretty much no dog owner respects the “No Dogs on the Beach” rule. But no worries, folks, I’ve found the perfect solution. When a pooch goes by, forget the owner — growl and bark at the dog. Works for me. Convinced I’m nuts, dog owners do not bring their mutts anywhere near me now.
Gotta scoot. The little men in white coats are knocking at the door, “coming to take me away…ha ha ho ho hee hee, to the funny farm…”

Our family has just completed the American Foundation Suicide Prevention walk. I came in to catch up on emails and saw this post. Mental illness is certainly no joking matter and the deeply offensive way in which this was written has taken us aback. I’m truly saddened by the unkindness of “neighbors”.

It seems like you might be attempting to use humor to express yourself, but you’re just coming across as a troll.
While it can be admirable to highlight topics that our association has not adequately addressed, it’s also imperative to express your perspective respectfully.
Bombastically belittling others’ opinions with a slew of silly soliloquy is simply not conducive to constructive conversations.
In my frequent failed forays at finding the funny, I’ve also had to learn: there’s a vast canyon betwixt supplying wit, and simply being a twit.
Mental illness is HILARIOUS and all, but many of us struggle with our minds and brain chemistry every day, so it’s really not appropriate to be used as a punchline – at the very least – not in this community forum.
Please do your darndest to deter yourself from degrading our discourse in ways that may deteriorate the desire for future friendly dialogue.
Also, side issue: what’s the deal with making a new forum topic each time we want to discuss the same ol’ subjects? Could we agree that each storm only deserves one spot in the forum?
Maybe that’s just me.
