Can we vote on dogs allowed on the beach at the meeting tonight? Several members will be on the call and we are getting close to the season!

Diane and other members of the board want an opinion letter from an attorney to interpret the state law about having dogs on our private beach. Personally I don’t know why that is necessary, the State of Delaware has rules for their own state beach strands and
- could care less what we do on our own private beach
Other private communities allow dogs on the beach. They also care about liability although the State says the dog owner is 100% liable. If they are so concerned they should have all dog owners sign a waiver that they are 100% liable for their dogs and their renters dogs and do not hold our community liable.
There are two sides to this dog on the beach rule – I feel we should have the board allow the rule to be voted on by our community, and then see what happens.

I agree with you, Brad. And if the community did vote to keep dogs off the beach, paying for an attorney’s opinion letter definitely wouldn’t be necessary.

Hey neighbors!!! I’m Tina! Sorry to all- we didn’t quite complete the Special Meeting Dance this time- I tried my best to follow the protocol in the Bylaws, but I made a technology error, and also met a couple of other snags.
Although it won’t be TSBA-recognized, I still plan to broadcast a meeting on Zoom tomorrow (Saturday Aug 24th) at 9am for whoever is interested in listening or sharing their opinion.
To participate, download Zoom onto any device, click “Join” and type in my meeting ID: 424 613 2632
If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d love to have you over to my place so we can meet in person, and have a productive conversation about how we should proceed.
One neighbor plans to bring bagels, and another has volunteered watermelon, so it looks like it’ll turn into a beautiful brunch!
Please RSVP ASAP if you plan to attend! firstname.lastname@example.org
