It’s Election Season at Tower Shores!
Topping our agenda items this month, we are looking for interested community members to run for The Tower Shores Board. The 2-year term starts Memorial Weekend after our annual meeting. Board members participate on a monthly board call as well as either head or become a member of a committee. Depending on your interest, you could also take on an officer role. It is a great way to get to know the community and have some input. We have 4 positions open with 2 current members wishing to re-run, so we absolutely need at least 2 people interested in running. But there is no limit on the number of candidates who would like to throw their hat in the ring.
If you have questions, contact our new Elections Committee Chair, Grace Vinci at firstname.lastname@example.org and/or me, email@example.com. Feel free to talk to current and past board members on their experiences as well. I am excited to work with Grace on elections and appreciate her volunteering for this position.
Web Site Directory
The new Tower Shores web site is up and running. It is FANTASTIC! If you have not updated your web site registration for the new site, do so now. The site is still http://www.towershores.com and you sign on using your original “username” and the temporary password is TSBA2019. Once logged on, you will then create your own private password. I strongly urge everyone, go onto the web site and check your profile in the new directory section under the “Homeowners” menu. Please check that your original information saved correctly in the directory. At a minimum, you want to make sure your unit street address is clearly identifiable with your email and phone number contact. This is especially important in the off-season. If your door is open, water is running out of your house or your unit, or if there are other urgent problems, you want a neighbor or our security patrol to contact you asap and advise you of the emergency. The fastest, best way to do this is to have accurate information in the directory, which is now obtainable from the web site only. Numerous family members or co-owners can register; there is no limit, in the event you have an emergency, you absolutely want as many contacts as possible to be aware of your security problem.
Our web site will also be the center of Tower Shores business as we move forward. Including future elections. Every home must have one voting representative, you just have to identify the voting member for your home, you do that by updating your registration profile.
If you are having trouble registering, click “Contact Us” on the home page and we will come to the rescue.
Home Repairs and Noise Moratorium
With spring comes issues created in the winter that cause necessary repairs. Think about visiting the beach and obtain contractors NOW to have these items repaired before Memorial Day Weekend when the noise moratorium begins. Contractors are very busy in the spring. For the past 3 years, we have had one unit per season violate the noise moratorium with renovations. Last summer, we were inches away from filing a lawsuit to stop construction. Please, we are neighbors so let’s respect each other and the rules. They apply to us all equally. Get your repairs inside and out completed timely. If you’re looking for a contractor, log onto the Tower Shores web site and check out “Neighbor Recommendations” under the “Homeowners” menu. Our list is a work in progress, if you already have a good contractor, click “Contact Us” and we’ll add the name.
Next Board meeting
Our next upcoming Board meeting is this Monday night at 8 pm. March, April and May board meetings (second Monday of each month) will be action packed preparing for the summer season. This Monday, we will be discussing next year’s suggested budget as well as reviewing suggested changes to our By-laws and Restrictive Covenants. Neither of these events are at the stage of voting. We want to discuss needs of Bay Road traffic in the summer. Finally, our committees will give update reports and weigh in on what needs to be accomplished in the spring. It’s easy to be part of the board meeting just dial in: (872) 240-3212 Access Code: 821-419-085
Watch for future emails, important information uploaded on the web site as well as voting packages later in April. We’ll look for you Monday night.
