Board approves “Soft roll out” of new ballot system

The Tower Shores board has voted to conduct the spring Tower Shores elections using the Tower Shores web site to cast votes. The board decided to make the move following two extensive test votes of the web site voting app to be certain it was ready.
The Tower Shores Communications Committee conducted the test over a one month period with more than a hundred Tower Shores homeowners taking part in the test.
Under the new voting system, each property in Tower Shores has been assigned a designated voter, who are the only ones who will be able to access the on-line ballot. The system is also designed to allow only one vote.
It’s hoped that by using the web site for voting, more homeowners will take part in the election process, casting a vote will be quick and simple, votes will be counted automatically. Because of limitations community members who own more than one property will still be asked to cast their votes using a paper ballot. That ballot will also be available for residents who want to continue to vote the more traditional way.
